Primarily used in mowing applications, the Grass / Debris screen bolts/screws onto your engine cover (over the pull/recoil starter) to keep cut material (that fly's through the air while mowing), from getting sucked into the engine cooling air intake, and thusly stuck behind the engine cover. If material builds up behind the engine cover over time, this can lead to engine overheating problems! Debris screen NOT needed for soil working applications exclusively.
Bottom line, this screen can save our customers money in engine repairs due to overheating. During the mowing process, the end user will every now and then look down at their debris screen. When they see it is 50% (or so) covered, they can throttle down and reach down with their hand to wipe all the cut material off the screen. One does not want to wait until the screen is totally covered as this might lead to overheating condition as this can block off the cooling air that the engine normally pulls through the debris screen.
